In the shade: colour and masterbatch

Few injection moulded parts are made from a base polymer and nothing else: a wide range of additives – and possibly colorants – is needed to give components the properties they require. This can range from being the correct colour to having the ability to be properly decorated. Innovations in colour and masterbatch include new medical grades, black and orange automotive colorants and a chemical blowing agent that helps cut component weight.
